HUMAN, I AM!

Dear God,
Stranded from every side, it is with a gloomy face I hereby write to you,
to let thy burning wrath know of my repentance.
Maybe these unclosed wounds are the prize for my untold sins, WHO KNOWS?
I…I just don’t get it,
The prejudice sequestering my liberty down there in the street,
The curse bound to my skin.

History never changed, just now being more displayed.
Melanin being a reason for foreign misconstrues.
They preach equality but serve a menu of different taste,
But miles far away are we from those bloody tales.
I recall in that same history I heard you say, I am wonderfully made.
So what’s the point of this pain that stains?

BLACK IS NO EVIL
BLACK IS NO THREAT
BLACK IS THE PERSON
BLACK IS NOT THE GUN.
In a fog of ignorance, voices in the valley once said, “Better marry your own race,”
Blinded enough were they not to realise Humanity is the only race designed at your own image.

So I write to you because I know you can make it happen;
A little child proud of the family you’ve given,
A parent grateful of his life you’ve blessed,
A citizen satisfied with the food and shelter he’s received,
And no human being begging to breath, indifferent of his identity or belief.
We all are ONE under the sun.
While waiting for a favourable reply; I will remain prayerful for a change.
Yours Faithfully… Your Masterpiece.
